ABS warping on top layer

Hi guys,

I own Prusa i3 for a long time. I started with Mk1 and currently i’m printing with mk3s mmu2s, but i have still problem with printing objects with ABS. Other, like PETG, PLA are 100% perfect. Also I have a Ikea Lack Enclousure to stabilize the temperature.

I own both available PEI Sheet (texture and smooth) and on the both PEI Sheet i have a perfect adhesion. But as extruder enters higher layers, ABS starts warping and after a few of warped layers extruder rips off object from PEI sheet

Also, i upload some fotos and model i try to prinr.

Model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3495390

Any idea how to make this object printable ?

Some items just do not print very well in ABS.  Those which do tend to have a lot of dimensional strength in their design.

My hunch is that the above print will work much better in PETg, or perhaps in ASA.

I have printed that model, and I think you will find that is shaping, not warping. Your photo looks exactly like what mine was like at that stage of the print. It is creating the joints then.

As you can see its in U shape where corners ale little higher - when nozzle aproach this corner you can see how nozzle is pushing directly on that corner. In this situation, the pressure created on object from nozzle can unstick the part from print bed. There are tons of topics with same problem som idk how you can say its normal.

If you really want to print in ABS, try a draft shield, found in the Print Settings | Skirt and Brim section. That will generate a skirt the full height of the part to help keep the heat in. An enclosure helps but I have found it is not enough for many ASA parts.

Mark
