Updated Parts?

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere and I missed it but I just noticed that 4 parts were updated 6 days ago; MINI-extruder-rear.stl, MINI-extruder-idler.stl, MINI-z-carriage-front.stl and MINI-z-bottom.stl . I've not got enough experience to judge the difference with the previous versions, but here's hoping that they might help with some of the issues people are experiencing.

RE: Updated Parts?

Hey,

thanks for the information. Where can I find the printing parameters such as infill, material, layer height of the updated parts?

Best regards

Jan

@jan-muellerleile

To be honest I have no idea, I've got to wait until August for my mini to arrive. I did a quick search on the forum and found the suggestion of Layer 0.2, 3 perimeters, 3 bottoms, 4 tops, 25% infill, no supports, no brim, no raft. I can't vouch for these settings, hopefully someone with more experience will be along to confirm or correct me!

You need to use ABS for the extruder parts, which (I understand) is not a beginners material but can use PLA for the rest.

Here are all the settings recommended for printing your own parts: https://www.prusa3d.com/prusa-i3-printable-parts .

Note that Prusa uses PETG for all their printed parts.

Wow, this forum software really sucks. I just composed a detailed analysis and the forum threw it away. Couldn't be bothered to write it again.

Until I got used to it, I'd periodically copy each post to the clipboard. It is annoying and the short edit timeouts don't allow saving periodically.

If some dumb automated system decides it doesn't want my considered contribution, in future I just won't submit them.

Well yes, it is sometimes kinda finicky. What I generally do with typing longer texts in forums (fora?) is typing it in text somewhere in notepad(++) and copying. That way it stays and I can try later.

Back to the topic, are the updates any worth printing? What I have read from the release notes, the main adjustments were mainly for easier assembly and cosmetics

Or do I read that wrong ?

@herbert

Did you find out which parts are worth printing?

I have an original issue printer and see now there are R2, 3 and 4 parts. I know the fan spacer, and minda holder are pretty important, as the original cable management caused my MINDA to break and I had to get a replacement. But can anyone shed some insight on what parts will help the printer function or longevity, or are most revisions for fabrication/assembly?
