Under-Extrusion Problem
Hello,
Recently I tried making a second print from a previous g-code, using the same filament when it started under-extruding causing the idler to start grinding the filament.
I've disassembled and cleaned the idler, as well as manually extruding some filament through the nozzel as well as using the cleaning needle. However when I try running a first layer callibration I still get under-extrusion problems. Short of removing the nozzel, I'm not sure where to go from here.
Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated.

When you say you manually extruded, was this performed at print temperature or did you increase nozzle temperature to a higher temperature like lets say 270C or above.
I ask because sometimes raising temperature can melt a piece of filament that otherwise sticks to some surface inside the heartbreak or nozzle. it doesn't always work but if often does. Another option would be to obtain a metal rod with a diameter similar to your filament and ram the cantankerous filament out the nozzle. A common source would be a 1/16" tungsten welding electrode (available on amazon) with has a diameter of 1.59mm. a perfect size to force 1.75 mm filament out the nozzle. Of course the nozzle has to be hot or this won't work.
Other wise i would try a new nozzle..

Yes, I heated the nozzle to 250 degrees (I've only used pla, petg and flex) so that should have been enough.
I did try with a toothpick, but I'll look into that welding electrode.

I'm still looking for suggestions on this problem. I think it's down to something wrong with the filament.
Since posting I've removed the nozzle and used a heat gun to clean out any leftover filament, as well as shoving a toothpick through the hot end, which removed a decent amount of buildup. But my mini is still under-extruding.
Today I put in a new nozzle and fed in a different roll of filament and it purged and calibrated just fine. But when I try the trouble filament the idler starts clicking when trying to purge.
I've put the spool in a filament dryer (I know they don't always solve the problem) but I'm still taking suggestions.

Is the heat break fully inserted into the cooler?
Have you try to re-apply the thermal paste on the heatbreak?
If you change the filament type (pla to petg or vice versa), I would do a coldpull first and clean the nozzle well.

further tip:
- replace the pneumatic fittings with the blue flange ones. They are much better.
- make sure the heat break tube and nozzle are tightening against each other. If not, it will leak at that junction.
