The filament change on the Prusa Mini.

Translated with Google translator:

The filament change on the Prusa Mini.

First time, a compliment to Prusa Research:
The Mini is a great printer, I love that thing 😉

Where there is a lot of light, there is always a little shadow ...

What doesn't make sense to me are the default settings for the temperatures when changing filaments.

To unload the filament, the hotend is preheated to the temperature that is also used to print the filament. I think this doesn't make sense for the following reason:

The filament becomes much too soft for the unloading process, a thickening in the form of a drop forms at the end of the filament, which makes the unloading process significantly more difficult.

I have had the situation twice so far that the filament could only be pulled out of the Bowden with a little force.

With a temperature just above the minimum printing temperature of the filament, this effect does not occur, it would be easy to avoid.

Before I started with my MK2S and now with the Mini, I used RipRapPro Ormerods for some time, also a Bowden system. The procedure outlined above with the lower temperature when unloading the Bowden system had proven its worth here.

Is there a good reason for the preset temperatures so high?

If I'm annoyed about it, I would like to know why it has to be 😉

RE: The filament change on the Prusa Mini.

Can I suggest you make a Feature Request on the Prusa Gitub, either:

https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues for PrusaSlicer.

OR

https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues for the Firmware.
