Suspect faulty sensor or something

I’ve had my Mini since it was launched and it’s never worked. The first layer never sticks, no matter what I do.

I’ve tried every piece of advice I can find about fixing this, without anything working.

The first layer never sticks. I’ve put glue on the bed. That doesn’t help.

I think the problem is that I can’t get it calibrate properly. When I run the first layer calibrate, it doesn’t stick properly, and I just keep winding the z axis down. I’ve tried sitting and spinning the wheel for a minute or more, so it goes well down. -1.0 or more.

The head doesn’t obviously move, and the filament doesn’t stick at any point.

The problem might be the eraser-shaped sensor thingy beside the print head. I’ve got it the thickness of a credit card above the bed, although I’ve tried fiddling with that.

I had problems when I first got this that were addressed by sending me a replacement sensor. But I wonder if maybe the sensor I got is also faulty? Is there some way to tell?

First wash your print sheet - dish soap and plenty of HOT water.

Then run a first layer Z calibration.

And show us a picture of the result.

Once we have a base to work from we will be able to make informed suggestions.

Cheerio,

This is with the default 0 adjustment. There is also attached (brief) video.

I tried winding it to the maximum, -2.0 adjustment, and the results are the same.

If you hit -2.0 and are still too high, then you need to move your SuperPINDA sensor to allow the head to get closer.

Thanks for the advice.

Adjusting the pinda made no difference. I've tried adjusting it previously.

This is why I suspect a faulty sensor?

Sounds like it. I'd contact Prusa support at this point.

Which way did you move it?  It needs to go up by at least a millimetre.

Cheerio,
