Stainless Steel?
Hi,
I am a new owner of a mini+ and am having a lot of fun with it. I live near the ocean and was thinking of putting the printer in the garage so that I could run it over night without disturbing my family. However, the salt air here corrodes anything that is not stainless steel. Does anyone happen to know if the metal parts are stainless and if so, what grade of stainless?
Thanks,
Brook

There are things that can go wrong with 3D printing that can make a mess, and in the extreme, catch fire. Search for "spaghetti monster 3D print" I would not leave one unattended overnight. There are things that can be done to watch it. A search will turn those up too. I have a system with a smoke detector that will cut the power if smoldering is detected. It has triggered once so far. Filament is also very sensitive to moisture. High humidity would not be good, much less salt air. It seems to have a combination of metals, aluminum, stainless steel and brass. That combination, along with salt air could result in galvanic corrosion. In general, I don't think salt air would be a good environment.
