Question about Prusa Mini +

Dear 3D printer users,

This is (I think) my first topic on the Prusa forum.I am looking to purchase a Prusa printer and that is the Prusa Mini+.
But before I do that I do have a few questions.
1. The Prusa slicer goes up to a layer thickness of 0.05 mm. For me that would be ideal.
Because me to print STL files are very filigree. Wall thicknesses around 0.8 mm. But is that printable ?
2. I want to print masts for my model railroad catenary, masts measure 2.5 x 2.5 mm (H-profile) with a wall thickness of said 0.8 mm.
Very fine so. To print ?
3. Are this kind of H-profile rigid enough ?
4. Filament PLA or ?

Regards,

Guus NL

RE: Question about Prusa Mini +

The Mini should be able to handle it. One observation I would make is that I don't see any point in going below 0.1mm layer height with a 0.4 mm nozzle. On my printers I couldn't tell you with a straight face that there's any difference.

From what you're saying you expect your models to have a lot of fine detail, which also argues for a 0.25 mm nozzle, which gives you better resolution in the xy plane as well as lets you go to higher resolution on the z axis. A 0.8 mm wall wouldn't be a problem.
