Prusa MINI Networking Issue

I have my MINI hardwired into my network and on the LCD, it never shows an IP even after saving the settings  and rebooting (see attached).  When I check the connected devices on my network, it appears that the MINI gets an IP, then refreshes right away, gets a different address, and repeats.  When I refresh my network devices on my router, the IP for the MINI is constantly changing.

Any ideas what could potentially be causing this?  The MINI is running the 4.0.5 firmware and is hardwired to a simple unmanaged Gb switch, then to my Netgear Orbi.

RE: Prusa MINI Networking Issue

There is some info on setting it up which might be of help: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/4-0-5-firmware-for-original-prusa-mini-2/#post-206820

Sorry I can't be of more help, I've got another 4 months to wait for my Mini!

You could assign a particular IP address so it always is the same. See "Manage Reserved LAN IP Addresses" on page 72 of the Orbi user guide.

It does seem that you may have an intermittent connection though. Even if IP addresses are assigned dynamically, it generally is for a day or so and would not change all the time unless things are disconnecting. You can also set a static IP address on the printer, but I prefer to control things from the router which has a web based interface. That is what I've done using my Ubiquiti Edgerouter and things work fine.

Regards,

Mark

Thanks for the replies.  After working with support via chat earlier, we determined that the only way to get it to work was a DHCP reservation (like @marklgoldberg recommended above).  I sent the dump file to the support agent and he's going to pass it on to the devs to see if this is part of a bigger issue, but for now, it's working for me.

Thanks again.
