New Parts Release - R7 and MINI+
What do you think of this, does it make sense to reprint some of the new R7 parts ? I personally have a Mini with R2 parts. The last releases had no parts which would have made sense to "reprint" but with R7 I ask myself if it would make any sense.
Especially the ones for geometrically compensation, but I could not really figure out what they changed and if it is worth it 😉 based on "Never change a running system ;)"

MINI+
- parts and documentation added
R7 parts adjustments :
MINI-bearing-clip
- new part
MINI-y-belt-holder
- new geometry for more reliable homing
MINI-y-plate-front
- geometrical compensation for thermal expansion
MINI-y-plate-rear
- geometrical compensation for thermal expansion
MINI-z-bottom
- new way for MINI-y-motor cable
- moved higher slot for M3s nut for M3x20 screw which holds MINI-z-plate-bottom
RE: New Parts Release - R7 and MINI+
If your MINI is printing without any issues leave it as it is - as you said "Never change a ..."

@clemens-m
Hmm, that is probably sage advice.

I have only looked at the front panel in CAD and cannot see any fundamental differences. I have not compared the other R7 parts wither other releases.

The changes must be very subtle.

RE: New Parts Release - R7 and MINI+
If I had to print these parts by my own - because of building a new printer - I would print R7 parts. If I already have these parts in an older version I would keep them. I had a rough look at the new versions and a comparison only by looking at the parts shows nothing worth for me to print them.
The only part where it would make sense to improve is the extruder and there is no developement published. So keep everything as it is - my opinion.
Best regards.

Thanks for the detailed feedback 🙂
Thought the same by looking over it, but you know, sometimes my eyes miss important things. Therefor it is good to have a set of additional eyes looking over it 😀
Thanks
Link the two topics together 🙂

Slightly offtopic, but does anyone know why they don't update the data for the buddyboard? It's still at 1.0.0 and my printer came with 1.0.5.

@karl-herbert
Maybe the diameter of the rod bore has changed? Mine ars just a bit oo big so the rod can move slighty in Y-direction.
