MINI bowden tube adapter/alternative
i hate the stock bowden tube connection, and want to use the standard quick connect setup. i modified the extruder back piece to fit the 10mm thread for the boden fitting. looking for a solution to connect it at the heat sync. its 8mm thread. anyone have a solution?

Buy PC4-M8 bowden couplers, or print your own adapter. See here:
RE: MINI bowden tube adapter/alternative
I replaced all the Bowden tube connections with pneumatic couplers, arguably the most useful mod I did. For hotend to extruder connection, I used these PC4-M8 connectors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QFK7YWP
I tried the 3D printed adapters, but ended up shearing off the thread while tightening (and no, I didn't put much force in) and had to buy a new heat sink 🙁 My recommendation is, why risk it—the brass connectors are cheap enough and guaranteed to be sturdier.

@fuchsr
Yup. That is common for folks to install them into plumming and shear them.

That is what I did, I replaced all 3 parts of the boden-tube and replaced it by 1 piece from extruder to nozzle with the help of 2 bowden couplers
Mini with FW:4.4.1 + SuperPINDA + Bondtech Heatbreak + PC4-M8 couplers + 1 piece boden

@oxygen
Same here. I do them more useful but sometimes the ptfe is difficult to remove.

RE: MINI bowden tube adapter/alternative
thanks everyone, after searching PC4-M8, i was able to get some ordered!
RE:
Thinking of replacing all the ptfe tubing with one long piece as you had done. Does the length of tubing have to be exact? What should the total length be? Thanks!
RE: MINI bowden tube adapter/alternative
I just eyeballed it to roughly the length of the current tube and the two small pieces. . Plenty of material that gets pushed out when purging so I didn't see the need for precision.

I've been searching for PC4-M8 trachea connectors that I can get shipped to the UK all evening with no joy, did you lot buy them all up? 😛
RE: MINI bowden tube adapter/alternative
Dang I must have lost my mind.
I know there is one 275mm tube that goes from the extruder to the top of the print head.... And there is the small 42mm tube that goes from print head into the nozzle .... but what third tube are you guys talking about?
RE: MINI bowden tube adapter/alternative
Third one is inside extruder.
RE:
There is short PTFE tube inside extruder as well.
Interesting, I did it the other way around, I bought original heatsink for cloned MINI, and I drilled and tapped Bownden collet for BMG extruder with M8 thread, to be able to use original fittings. (I slapped standard non-MINI version of BMG extruder on it).
