how should first layer calibration look like?

as topic.

i dont quite understand the pictures provided by prusa.

for the square,

should the lines be touching and form 1 flat piece?

 

or should they be separate? like a window blind, as picture link.

I know it's hard to judge from photos. Here's my example how good first layer should look (PLA on smooth print sheet):

Yes, a solid piece when pealed off the bed. Smooth on the bottom and smooth as possible above.
