This message occurs after I power down the printer then turn it on, I have tried the alternative flashing method but to no success.

I did, I also contacted support, not a known issue, they send it to the dev team.

I also get the exact same message, on the plus side it still prints.

Ever find a fix for this? I'm getting the same issue. Have to take out the USB every time I power the printer on to avoid it.

I’m in the same boat. Have to remove the flash drive every time it turn on the Mini. Very annoying. Running 5.1.2 (latest). And no files on the flash drive.

Has anyone taken the flash drive and reformatted (not a quick format) it on a PC? I had a flash drive that went bad and the printer did weird things until i reformatted it completely.

This may happen on any firmware, when fat32 partition data gets corrupted when printer or computer is actually writing to the pendrive and writing was aborted incorrectly.

On computer usually because pendrive was removed too quickly.

On printer due pendrive removed, firmware crashes, resets or firmware bugs, and power brownouts.

As a result you may have incorrectly written files, and in 'good' scenario it will be truncated, while in 'bad' scenario you can have a garbage anywhere in the file.

I have tried reformatting the flash drive on my Mac to FAT32 and the same issue still occurs.

I also tried a different flash drive (8GB like the one included), reformatted to FAT32, and the same exact issue occurs.

To reiterate I'm getting:

Error! #12604

You probably should contact support via chat. They are pretty familiar with these types of errors.

I also tried 5.1.2, the same. A different error code was fixed in that release.

My bad, confirming that I have this issue as well. Been using Octoprint/Prusalink for long time, did a manual check and it did show #12604 error code

I fixed it by putting a copy of the firmware on the USB drive & leaving it on there.

I had the same problem and the solution from @kalyns works. The firmware file must be in the root of the USB drive, this works for me.

To me this issue occurs even with latest firmware 6.0 https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues/3333    Error code: #12604.

I was able to solve this just the other day on 5.1.2 (pre 6.0). It was caused by the introduction of 5.1 I believe and continued through the updates until I did this.

I had to reflash the firmware from scratch. Put a single file of the firmware on the root of the flash drive and do a hard reset.

Firmware 4.4.1 introduced a new bootloader. If your Mini is running a version prior to that, first update to 4.4.1 (note there are 2 files, bootloader and firmware, that need to be on the USB). Then update to 5.1.0. Then it should be able to update to 6.0.0.

Sequence: 4.4.1 -> 5.1.0 -> 6.0.0
