Filament Sensor N/A

My filament sensor no longer tracks the filament. It reads N/A under sensor. I have updated the Mini firmware to the DEC along with taking apart the sensor itself. I also checked the wiring, pins, etc. All are good.

Do these sensor typically fail? Should I replace it? -- Lastly, it is not the port printer motherboard which failed? It is firmly plugged in with a click. I've also check the run of the sensor to the motherboard and there are no cuts or otherwise.

Summary: Sensor reads N/A and I've done all troubleshooting steps online at Prusa. Thanks

First try https://help.prusa3d.com/article/ir-filament-sensor-troubleshooting-mini-mini_230431

Otherwise if you have a multimeter and some electronics such as to generate 3.3V or 5V (which are typical for arduino/esp32 boards) then you could drill down better to see if the sensor itself shows proper values and if it reacts to the filament change (usually its just LED light path blocked or some mini switch), see https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-i3-mk3s-mk3-hardware-firmware-and-software-help/ir-sensor-not-working-extremely-low-signal-voltage/

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

Thank you for the response. I went to the settings menu and saw the toggle for Filament Sensor unchecked (ie: Not activated).. Not sure how this happened, but I am showing results in the sensor info screen now. Thanks to all.

RE: Filament Sensor N/A

5.1.2+13478 Firmware seems to have disabled the filament sensor for me. After much hardware checking, this fixed it for me. thanks!
