Dead after nozzle cleaning...solved
Hi all. Before a new print today i wanted to clean my nozzle a bit with a copper wire brush. I carefully tried to clean the nozzle a bit and then... i saw small spark near the nozzle and the machine was dead. No screen, no fans, no nothing. I first checked both the fuses on the mainboard. Both were still in order. I became uneasy as i heard about frying the mainboard in this kind of situations. I then decided to measure the supply voltage. Not easy as you cannot measure on the plug of the psu without a risk of making a short. I disconnected the two connectors from the on/off switch on the mainboard and measured there.....nothing. So the PSU did not provide any supply voltage. And it does not have an external fuse to replace. Then i found out that UNPLUGGING the psu from mains would reset the switched power supply oscillator and... it gave the supply voltage again. Lesson learned, if no supply voltage, unplug the psu from mains and wait a little before plugging it in agian. Happy my Mini+ is running again and next time i will clean the nozzle when warm and switch the printer OFF first !!

I've found out that the best way to clean the hotend is to heat it around 170°C to melt the residues and rub pieces of paper towel against it (using tweezers). There's no risk of shorts if you roll the paper towel around the tweezers and it makes the hotend look pristine!
