Cooling fan noise

My cooling fan when it kicks into high going around the perimeter it sounds like a dry bearing. Is this normal for these things?

Mine is doing the same, also here this screaming fan at startup, but during prints it is not happening that often and the times the fand is used more often, it gets more silent over time.

I thought, if it breaks, I just exchange it and haven't put much thought into it.

You should not hear anything else but air, if fan makes other noises it may be dirty or broken. I'd open ticket with support and send them clip.

My fan's doing the same thing. If someone contacts support about it, please let us know what they say.

RE: Cooling fan noise

The fans are equipped with simple ball bearings with greater axial play and some of them are not very durable. Some of them do last for 3 years, and some are already defective after one week. I always have one or two pieces on reserve. I myself have an average wear of 1 fan/year (Mini/MK3). Unfortunately the warranty on my printers has already expired.

Statt zu klagen, dass wir nicht alles haben, was wir wollen, sollten wir lieber dankbar sein, dass wir nicht alles bekommen, was wir verdienen.

RE: Cooling fan noise

Same issue on my mini, started a couple days after I got it. Can hear the ball bearing is bad in the part cooling fan at 1st startup, or after it's been on and idle awhile. Seems to quiet down in a couple minutes after the fan comes on, probably as the bearing expands from the friction heat. or if you tap the fan hub when it starts up. Might be the movement of the print head doing the same thing as tapping it that quiets it down in a couple minutes.

I have yet to make a warranty claim on it. Probably wait till I do my next prusament order to make the claim and see if they can package it in with that. Feels kinda douchie to probably have them pay more in shipping than the fan is worth to ship that from Prague to the US.
