Automatically unloads filament when I increase speed

I am currently trying to test the volumetric flow rate, but when I tweak the gcode in the slicer with M220 S200 after layer 2, then it will print fine until a certain point where it then just unloads the filament. Why is this and how can I avoid it?

I have the same issue when just using the speed option in "Tune" settings while printing.

Try turning your filament sensor to OFF in the lcd menu and try it again.  If that stops it happening then you know what the culprit is.  A filament sensor registering =0 will cause a unload/load scenario so its a possible cause.

Great - this seems to solve the problem. The new question is then- why does this happen?

Usually an incorrect assembled filament sensor.  From all accounts the mk3s sensor is finicky to get adjusted correctly.  There are loads of threads about it on the forum.  You have to make sure all the contact surfaces are smooth so it moves correctly, not overtighten the screw in that area etc.

Its why I don't have a S version sensor, I'm still using my mk3 sensor with modifications.
