Any advice on repairing a broken Prusa Mini?
Hi! This is Jamie. This is my first time posting on the forum, so please be kind if I'm unaware of typical guidelines on posting.
Recently, while I was shipping a PRUSA Mini during my move to another house, part of the assembly broke off.
I was wondering, based on the broken part, whether it would be possible to repair it,
or hear for possible recommendations on how I might be able to repair the printer, if at all.
I was naively thinking that perhaps just gluing them together would work? - but of course this is probably not the right answer...

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi ,
You broke just a join part, Your printer should be fully functional and able to print the spare.
https://github.com/prusa3d/Original-Prusa-MINI/blob/master/STL/MINI-z-carriage-rear.stl
alternatively You can buy it at prusa shop, https://shop.prusa3d.com/en/mini/1055-mini-z-carriage-rear-orange.html
here https://github.com/FYSETC/FYSETC-Prusa-mini-clone/blob/master/Original%20Prusa%20MINI%20kit%20assembly%20V1.0.pdf You can find an unofficial guide to see how to assemble the printer.
While waiting for the spare just keep the extruder joined to the z carriage by tape, avoid glue as You could damage the other parts.
good luck

You should be easily able to repair the broken plastic part. Not sure if you have access to a 3D printer but you can get the STL of all the parts here: https://www.prusa3d.com/prusa-i3-printable-parts/
Maybe you can zip-tie your printer to get it to print the part you need to replace. Ideally you should use PETG filament for this.

If you look at https://www.prusaprinters.org/world you should be able to find someone reasonably close to you who can print a replacement part.
Cheerio,

That is the extruder, it the internal parts are not damaged, you should be able to reprint the extruder part.
Just make sure none of the cables and tubing get snagged.

Alternatively, you can find someone in your area "prusa world" who will print the spare part for you.

That is what I would do. Locals can help provide you with parts and expertise.

Thanks for the help @misan, @diem, @mrstoned, @turro75, @karl-herbert and @cwbullet ! I was able to bootstrap the old part, print the broken part and replace the broken part with the newly printed part today, and I would not have been able to do it without your help.
