WHY DID I LOSE MY MACHINE AND FILAMENT SETTINGS JUST BECAUSE I WENT TO 2.7.2?????

The 2.7.2 update asked if you wanted to merge with the old profiles or to overwrite. Maybe you choose the latter?

Did n't see a prompt like that. Did system restore and got some back.
Still, why should it kill that data? Very annoying. Took long time to get those settings.

Another thought:
Depending on version upgraded from there might be a second folder with settings. (In the past) I saw this when upgrading from a beta version to regular version. I had to copy/paste them manually.

It didn't do that for me.
Whenever it adds new configs it saves a backup of your previous settings unless you told it no. You can access and restore them in Prusa slicer.

I'll also add that any 3mf files you had still still have your settings. Just open a 3mf file and resave the print settings.

I noticed that, but it seemed when i saved the machine settings and gave it a name, then tried to create a new project, i could not access the explicitly saved machine.
