Is there a coasting feature in prusaslicer? Or can there be?

or can there be?

i am ripping my hair out more or less, trying to get prints that don't bulge at the corners. i can't make heads or tales out of linear advance. i'm not even sure i can turn it on in my printer. i tried printing a number of stripes and they look the same.

when i made my first print in cura, it came out perfectly. sharp corners, smooth lines, it even has a different sheen for some reason. but when i print with prusa slicer (using a Bluer Plus from two trees), they print lumpy. i mean they look good, but they swell out at every corner.  and i've been trying to figure out what settings cura has compared to prusa, and it took me a while but they have something called coasting.

can prusaslicer have coasting, or linear advance, or some kind of pressure advance. maybe even give me a set of lines i can try using the settings i currently have? that would make my life a bit easier.

i would use cura, but i don't like the controls or the interface. somehow prusa is more intuitive.  but i'd like the prints to be kind of the same.

i tried printing fast, slow, less multiplier, and a number of other things, but this seems to be the main difference.

thanks

RE:

Coasting is not a feature in PrusaSlicer. Cura and Simplify 3D offer it. It's a feature that stops extrusion as the printer nozzle approaches the end of each layer. You will typically see it at the z-seam. DON't try to hide links in posts or I will close your account for spamming!

there is a 'wipe' option in prusa slicer which may be similar yo coasting.

Prusa slicer activates Linear advance within the filament Custom G Code Start Gcode window

Like this

M900 K{if printer_notes=~/.*PRINTER_MODEL_MINI.*/ and nozzle_diameter[0]==0.6}0.12{elsif printer_notes=~/.*PRINTER_MODEL_MINI.*/ and nozzle_diameter[0]==0.8}0.06{elsif printer_notes=~/.*PRINTER_MODEL_MINI.*/}0.2{elsif nozzle_diameter[0]==0.8}0.02{elsif nozzle_diameter[0]==0.6}0.04{else}0.08{endif} ; Filament gcode LA 1.5{if printer_notes=~/.*PRINTER_MODEL_MINI.*/};{elsif printer_notes=~/.*PRINTER_HAS_BOWDEN.*/}M900 K200{elsif nozzle_diameter[0]==0.6}M900 K24{elsif nozzle_diameter[0]==0.8};{else}M900 K45{endif} ; Filament gcode LA 1.0

wipe just cleans the nozzle after each pass.

coasting or pressure advance eases back the pressure as it gets to a corner so it doesn't squirt extra material there. every time the path changes the pressure in the head sort of slips out and you get this big bulge on the corners. with pressure advance, coasting etc, it sort of tapers it back as it gets to the corer. with cura the coasting simply tapers it back a bit. and pressure advance you need to make test stripes to tell it how much to ease it back.

problem is my firmware doesn't know from pressure advance yet. but it did coast correctly. so if the slicer also had this function i wouldn't have to learn cura.
