Stopping Print causes filament change
Using MK3s+MMU2
In any of my g-codes, if for some reason I need to stop the print early, the printer will:
- Stop
- Lift Z
- Unload current filament from Extruder
- Load next filament to extruder (similar to spooljoin function)
- Drop Z slightly (does not return to print height)
- Continues printing for 10-20seconds
- Then Stops
If I forget to leave the other filaments loaded to the MMU2, it will stop with the filament still loaded into the hotend.
If it doesn't load another filament it will give an MMU2 load error. Usually easiest to hit the reset button to get back to normal.
Or if I'm in front of it, I will trigger the filament sensor manually to make it think the filament loaded and hold it until for the 10-20 seconds where it tries to continue printing.
However, if the print completes successfully, then the filament unloads and finishes as expected.

When you say "Then Stops" do you mean abruptly, without parking or anything?
I'd expect this to be an LCD issue. The printer does the stop dance, before I can ensure, I won't send any more commands
I want to get that fixed. Then there's the MMU support. There is none so far, so MMU specific features and issues are not being prioritized yet, but that should be coming. Thank you for testing and for providing such a detailed description

It happens with both Connect and the LCD. I haven't tried via Link yet.
Yes, when I say Then Stop, yes it stops exactly where it is. It does not move to home.

I don't understand the part where you use the command "Then Stop" don't know that. Which case is the one that works for you? Thank you

I recorded a video of what it does.
This same issue happens when I "Stop" the print using either Prusa Connect or on the Front screen of the printer.

Oh and I forgot to add that if I try to do another print that specifically uses Filament 1 (not default) in the G-code, the MMU2 will ignore Filament 1 and go straight to Filament 2. If I power cycle the printer, and print the same gcode, the MMU2 will load filament 1 as expected.
I haven't tried Loading Filament 1 from the LCD again when that happens. I will try to remember next time I have a failed print to give that a go. I would assume if that worked, it would indicate the spooljoin function may be the reason of this issue.

I finally have the MMU installed, but so far, my attempts to print a sheep were unsuccessfull. Once I'm done with 0.7.0 I'm gonna see what I can do about the MMU. Don't feel obligated to debug it (yet) 🙂 But thank you for caring so much

It's no problem at all.. I spend my days in diagnostics for automotive so I can appreciate the work you guys are doing.
Just confirmed that after Stopping the print and it moves to the next filament, if I run the 'Load Filament 1' process, I can run the print again and it will use Filament 1.
If I switch off Spool Join then it won't try to load the next filament, however it acts as though the filament has run out.
