I'm in the process of adjusting my esp32 camera to be attached to the hotbed to get better time lapse videos - and as most people install it in the left fide of the 'front' edge of the hotbed, because if camera is positioned well then it is pretty close to the 3D print preview.
Minor drawback of the esp32 and cameras is the fact that at least in esphome you can not rotate camera image. Probably it is possible to do it if using custom firmware (non-esphome native) or just process it outside of the esp device.
