USB and Mintemp

I don't know if this is new information but it would appear that it is not possible for a PC to attach using USB. USB can only be uses for flash drive. It is unclear if exactly how Octoprint will attach.

Also Mintemp errors are triggered immediately on power up, so my hope of using an enclosure only heated by the printer itself wont fly. I'm gonna have to build a heated enclosure.

Octoprint attaches via USB.

MinTemp erros are not normally triggered immediately on startup.

If you would provide more details on what you're doing and what errors you're seeing, we can provide more useful information.

RE: USB and Mintemp

MINI seems to have USB-A for sticks, and there's also another port that looks like Micro-USB or USB-C, will it be for tethering or another mass storage port? Will Octoprint work over the network? Will MINI have some tools like serial over TCP implemented? (We use tcp wrappers like ser2net to have Linux box act like terminal server for Cisco consoles).

Regarding Mintemp, would pre-heating the printer or space around it (enclosure) with hair drier/heat-gun help, or does that sound too kludge-y?

Ah the Mini -- In one of the earlier videos, it looked like there was a USB (mini perhaps?) port that could be used for Octoprint. Not having seen one in the wild yet, it's hard to say. I'll be disappointed if the Mini can't be used with Octoprint, on-board wireless or not.

If OP meant low temp in the room, some sort of bump to ambient temps might be required. From the lack of detail, I wasn't sure what was meant. A small nearby space heater might be worthwhile. One of those fold-up enclosures is another possibility.

@bobstro

The info I posted was from a chat session with Prusa support. I probably should have said that but then again unless I just made it up, journalist fashion, what other source.

"MinTemp erros are not normally triggered immediately on startup." not what Prusa support said a couple of hours ago but I certainly hope you are right.

"Ah the Mini" Why surprised, this is the Mini forum isn't it?

"If OP meant low temp in the room" I can't imagine where else.
