Sheet that comes with it

Hello,

I am was looking at getting a new sheet for my Prusa Mini because the other owner dented it a little and right in the middle too. I noticed that it looks like it was double sided, is it?? if so how do i go about flipping it because of the black sheet is stuck to it?

Well the original sheet has a PEI layer for reasons of adhesion so I don't understand why someone would put something like that on there. I have seen those only on surfaces that are straight metal or glass. Maybe the bed was damaged on that side and they decided to put a heatbed sticker to keep it functional? Or maybe he wanted to achieve that layer surface without buying another sheet 😛

Anyway it probably has adhesive so if you ever decide to take it off you will need to heat up your bed at 80C to 90C and then start peeling it off slowly and carefully, heat resistant gloves would be a good idea. Hopefully it will not rip the PEI lining and if it leaves any residues you can clean it with IPA. I am not sure though if at this point is worth the hassle. Maybe do some test prints on it to check if it creates problems and then decide.

The sheets are double sided and you should be able to turn it easily. The sheets are held in place with magnets build into the heated bed. If you lift the sheet at the front, you should be able to remove it, flip it over and then place the sheet back by putting the back edge against the studs on the back of the bad and lowering it into place.

If this hasn't helped you I suggest you post a photo to help people understand the problem you are having.

Some people might add kapton tape on the sheet or maybe they put some type of glue? Maybe a photo would help us help you better 😛

Also there is some information about sheets on this thread here.

@geoper2 and @gordon-w

Thanks for the replays. I always thought it was a thing that was default but not so. The other owner put a Headbed sheet sticker on it. I am guessing it helps with helps or something?

I will need to remove it at some point, any recommendation?

@geoper2

Thank you for the information. I will have a look at some point when my big print job is done and buy another just in case hahaha.

I have no idea why it was done but don't mind to much because I got the mini for £300 in February, so i can't complain 😀

thanks for all the help

Don't forget that you'll need to check your live Z if you make any changes to the sheet or replace it with one of the same type as that sticker will have altered the thickness.
