Prusament PETG Clear does not load
I am just getting crazy: The just opened Prusament PETG Clear wont load. It gets driven by the extruder for e.g. 1.5 cm and then it gets stuck.
I have 3 times changed to another Prusament PETG (Ultramarine) and it loads perfectly.
Measurement of the clear filament shows a diameter between 1.739 and 1.743 mm, the Ultramarine one goes down to 1.731 an 1.738. All within specifications.
Has anyone had similar experiences? Should I loosen the pressure of the extruder spring? Thapart that went into the tranport wheel has been somewhat flattened and has now a width up to 2.0 mm.
The Clear PETG is the first filament that does not pass the extruder at all - no such experience with any other PETG or PLA.

Sure, loosening the idler screw is the first thing I'd try. And then double check that the spool says PETG not ASA 🙂

First thing I'll do this Sunday ...
RE: Prusament PETG Clear does not load
Simple and maybe silly question: I suppose turning the idler screw counterclockwise will loosen the pressure on the filament?
RE: Prusament PETG Clear does not load
Counterclockwise loosens the load on the spring, thus reducing pressure on the gears.
Clear filament - does the problem go away if you disable the filament sensor?
I try to give answers to the best of my ability, but I am not a 3D printing pro by any means, and anything you do you do at your own risk. BTW: I have no food for…

RE: Prusament PETG Clear does not load
Shoving the filament into the extruder leads to a suden and palpable stop, when something clogs at the exit of the extruder.
I suppose, clear PETG is a little bit more squaschy than others - only some gut feeling.
Tomorrow I'll know more after loosening the spring.
Mark the filament when it hits the stop then unload it and offer it up in the same position to see how far down the block is...
Cheerio,
RE: Prusament PETG Clear does not load
A quarter turn counterclockwise / left of the idler screw did the trick. Taking tension from the filamen had been the right decision. Now I hope PLA filament will work with lowered tension too. I'll see ...
Thanx for supporting me - it helped me to confidently try that!
RE: Prusament PETG Clear does not load
That's the reason I installed Bondtech extruders on my Minis. The stock extruder works but is very finicky and sensitive to different filament types. I haven't had to adjust the tension on the Bondtechs once, and haven't had any clogs or heat creep issues. (To be precise, one of the Minis has the Bondtech IFS, the other a Trianglelab clone of the original Bondtech extruder. No difference).
