My first nightmare day.

Yesterday I spent hours in.learning fusion 360 (what a frustrating bit of software) creating an iPhone to scope mount. Printed it and it was a wonky mess. I just couldn’t understand it. So today I switched to printing some anti-vibration feet downloaded from here. It just kept failing. I re-sliced it, tried brims, did all sorts and it just kept failing after initially looking good. Cleaned and re-cleaned the bed but it still kept failing to adhere. Lots of cleaning the nozzle and block after a birds nest soup issue and my heckles were up. So I tried running first layer test and it looked terrible with half the square missing, and the other half perfect. Tried a couple of times with the same, I had gone from perfect prints every time to blooming nightmare.

So had a break, a couple of cans of temper relaxant, also known as lager, then went back to it. Funny how a break can help you spot the bleeding obvious. At some point yesterday I had re-fitted the steel sheet, probably late and in low light. I had unknowingly hooked it on one of the locating pins. Arrgggghhhhhhhhhhhh.

Felt like a total muppet, always go back to basics and think about what might have changed. Enginerding rule 1, and after a career in engineering and IT for the last 28 years I failed on the basics. Rule 2 is beer always helps.

Ah, yes. When I started reading your problem, I was going to recommend you look for a stray piece of filament under the sheet. Glad you found the real issue.

Whatever you find to do with your hands, do with all your might!
