MINI+ updates giving problems! (Mini Base, Bondtech IFS extruder, E3D Revo Micro)

I updated my new mini+ with the mini base also replaced the stock extruder for a Bondtech IFS and installed a E3D Revo Micro.

At first all seem to be working as it should be. Making some tests with a 3dbenchy does a great job.

Then I tried doing a bigger print ( “Alien full figure” Prusament PLA Jet Black) the first few hours are doing fine. Eventually it starts under extruding making just strings and there is a point when not any filament is coming out the hot end.

I tried to solve the problem while the filament spool hanging under the base got some more resistance then on a spool holder. I adjust the knob on the Bondtech extruder so it has more torque to pull the filament under the base. That seem to work for a couple of hours then the same problem returns.

It also looks like the knob for the gears on the Bondtech extruder comes a bit lose overtime.

I now trying to make the same print again and use the original mini+ spool holder to see if it makes a difference.

Is there anyone with similar problems and have some solutions or some feedback to solve the problem.

RE: MINI+ updates giving problems! (Mini Base, Bondtech IFS extruder, E3D Revo Micro)

Did you get your print to work properly? While I cannot speak to the upgrades you made to the extruder and hotend, I have upgraded my old Mini+ with the Minibase and experienced similar issues with the spool hanging under the printer. It appears as though the spools might slowly start separating when suspended like the Minibase is designed. I have had the spools bind up on me mid-print a couple times. I solved this by elevating the base with felt furniture pads that have adhesive on one side and stuck them to the stock foam vibration pads from Prusa.

I have thought about printing some isolation pads like some have used on their printers, but I am not sure yet if I want to do that.

Additionally, adding a small roller tray that the spool can rest on when under the printer could be valuable, just harder when spools vary in width.

I did get the printer to work, but I use the original spoolholder it came with and not let the spool hang underneath the base. I also did some adjustments on the settings page in Prusa Slicer to make the E3D Revo Micro work with  Prusament PLA.

Fairly I still have to run some tests small prints seems to be just doing fine with the spool underneath the base, the problems occurs on bigger sprints. I also did ask myself does the original Prusa extruder has more torque because some poeple experience more grinding of the filament they are using then the bondtech extruder. If this is the case the original extruder has minor problems to pull the spool underneath the Mini Base.

Butt you already answered that question since you don't use a bondtech extruder. On printables I did already see some modifications come along, so maybe this is not working period.

For myself it's not a big problem I am planning to buy an enclosure where the spool sits on top off it because I also want to do something with ASA and it keeps my mini dustfree.
