First layer of support structure removal

Hi all together,

I´m into 3d printing since about 10 years now and with my own printer designs I used Prusas since the beginning. When upgrading my little farm to the MK4S I started with getting problems I never had before.

First of all, I´m using a Filaprint. This sheet was always reliable with sheets beeing 8 years old and still sticking as on the first day. You can print nearly every material on them with best adhesion when warm and plopping off when cold. Here I got the problem first: the first layer of PETG Supports were awful. They were stuck on the bed even if it was cold already. The parts were always great and easy to remove. I then played around with the Z Offset. But using a higher Z Offset caused incosistent first layers where I got sometimes gaps, sometimes it was perfect.

This brought me to the conclusion, that the first layer of the MK4S is deeper than it should be, to get cosistent first layers. But the first layer of the supports always seems to be even deeper than the part.

I then thought the filaprint would be the problem even if I got no problems for the last decade of years. But: When I now used the Prusa PA sheet with their PA12 CF, I got this problem to. I cant remove the first layer supports without destroying the sheet.

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix that with a workaround? There are already some issues on Github facing this problem and asking for more than one base layer for the supports, but no response from prusa. The Z Offset doesnt seem to be a reliable option, but I may be wrong.

Maybe there is somebody who can help with that topic.

Have a nice day,
William
