Screen flickering on prusa mk4s preassembled

Screen just stays black and randomly flickers after connecting with prusa connect during a print. Couldn't find anything on this for the mk4s, is it the same as the issue with the mk4?

I've ordered my MK4S first day available and have had similar issue. Prusa support guided me to do some tests and finally send a replacement screen.

I’m having the same issue. It just started today after a few days of perfect operation. I checked all cables and connection plus tried to disturb them to replicate and fix the problem with no change. I wondering if its a hardware or firmware issues. Prusa any help with this? Thanks

Same issue - I just get the attached. After several restarts it works normally again.....

Have been asked by Prusa chat to apply the alpha firmware:

Is this the same problem you all are having?

I built the printer from a kit roughly 5 days ago I think and it was great until today when I checked on a print via the prusa app on my phone. Came outside to remove the parts and found this. I was able to start a new print via connect.

I notice that when it reboots the boot screen is fine so I suspect the screen itself is fine and this is some sort of bug in the firmware (i really hope thats the case at least since i don't know if i have it in me to rebuild the printer right now after having just finished.)

Will let you all know if it resolves itself on its own.

FWIW i managed to get my screen working again by powering down the printer via the switch on the PSU, then unplugging the machine, then toggling the power switch back and fourth about 10 times. When it rebooted the screen came up like normal. Def thinking firmware bug and not hardware issue. Will trying playing with the app again to see if I can recreate it.

Same flickering issues led me to this thread.

I just installed 6.2.0 alpha2 and flickering is gone.

When I tried to print a gcode I sliced with MK4S profile, the printer warned me about 'nozzle not high flow'.  I simply re-enabled it in the menu (under hardware, it was disabled) , it's printing OK now.

Exactly the same here - seems to be OK since the alpha firmware. And I had the same thing with the HF Nozzle message too 😉

Only happened for me when initially switched on, not mid use - but apply the 6.2.0 firmware I linked to above - it seemed to fix the issue for me........

Mind got to a point where it was constantly screwed up, totally unusable screen.

Jumped on chat with Prusa Support a couple of days ago, we did a few tests and I sent over pics and videos of the screen and my wiring.  They're sending me a new screen and cable.

New screen and cable arrived today.

Only replaced the screen, and so far no flickering issues to report.

I will keep an eye on it over the next few days and report back.

For anyone else having the same experience, please chat with Prusa Support, they are excellent help.

RE:

I have the same issue as you guys. It always happen when I start a print. The screen starts to flicker like crazy and then starts showing inverted images, squeezed image, noisy image and other artifacts. Simply pushing the "RESET"  button on the display panel instantly turns it back to normal and I can start a print no problem, so I recon it's not a faulty display, nor a loose connection.

Looking forward to the next firmware update which, hopefully, fixes this. Love the printer otherwise! 🙂
