Prusa MK4 - Inexplicable tapering in the visible area

Good morning.

My name is Jan and my english language is not very good, but i try my very best 🙂

I´m using Prusa Mk4 since one year. I use Polymaker PETG Lite for all my prints.

I would like to find out what the causes of such misprints could be. I am not sure if it is human error or if it is normal. The print shows a taper towards the top (print direction). This taper ends abruptly as soon as the print changes into the wall shape. The taper can only be seen when the mould is "full". This mould has been printed with four perimeters and gyroid infill.

If I use only 4 perimenter for example and 25% gyroid as infill, the wall is almost perfect in terms of uniformity.%

If I use 100% infill, the result is the same.

If I first use infill from Gyroid and then a massive infill, the result is as shown above.

Does anyone have any tips for me?

Surely this can't be due to the belt tension? First it is tapered in the infill area and then it prints straight in the solid infill.

Can you please save the project file, for this print, then ZIP Compress the Project File. and attach the project file to your next post please.
then we can have a play with the settings, and offer more direct suggestions.

regards Joan

Hi Joan.

I have attached the 3mf file as a ZIP.

When I get home, I will definitely check the belt tension, as I was told by Prusa support.

I will also print the above file again with 100% infill and with Prusa Prusment Polymers PETG also with 100%.

Let's see what I can achieve today.
