Printer stops feeding filament after 40mm above the print bed since upgrading to 6.0 firmware

I had been waiting for my MMU3. It finally came. But now all of a sudden after updating to the latest firmware to support the MMU. Now the MK4 stops feeding filament to the print head after it reaches about 40mm above the print head.

1. I thought it was a jammed print nozzle. I cleaned it out then the next print did the same thing after about 40mm above the print bed the print head stop pulling in print filament. I thought maybe it was a issue with my PETG filament so I switched to PLA.

2. I printed the same model for 3 times 2 times with PETG third time with PLA all stopped feeding filament after about 40mm above the print bed.

3. Thought it was a model issue so I switched to a less complex model but yet again around the 40mm mark above the print bed it stopped. I had also turned on jammed print filament detection. This time it said that it detected it. I came home reloaded the filament it says all was good but print head did not start feeding filament.

I built this printer last summer have had no issues at all in that time till now with this latest firmware. Is it possible to revert to an older version to see if this firmware is what is causing my issue? Any thing will help. I hope this gets fixed soon because I have my MMU3 almost assembled.

Very early testing and workaround. But blocks the deployment of my MMU3 until the firmware is fixed. I have reverted back to firmware 5.1.3 and an early test appears to be working with no issues. Will post more in the next couple of days if the issue was firmware version 6.0 that was the root cause of the issue. I hope they get it fix fast since I had been waiting for my MMU3 since last September and finally got it.

Update: Even with rolling back about 40% of a more complex print it went to spagetti and then stopped feeding filament. So, next trouble shooting step. Upgrade back to 6.0 firmware and reset the settings and have the printer do a calibration. Maybe some parts of the calibration are off causing this issue.

Update: Went back to version 6.0 of the firmware. But now I can only go to a print height of maybe 20mm of the print board. It is bad enough the printer is not functional to do anything at all. Will do a factory reset here after I get my MMU3 installed hoping that it is just some settings issues that are causing it to stop working.

May I suggest that you try the Factory reset and follow on test print before the MMU3 upgrade, just so that you can go into MMU3 era, having cleared the outstanding issue.

I will try it that is a good idea.

I had already upgraded my extruder with the new parts needed to support the MMU3. Lets hope they work without the MMU.

I suspect Autoload will not work as you might expect, with the MMU revisions to nextruder, because the MMU Filament sensor solution is different
Just manually load the filament at the start

Hello!

Is there any news about this problem? It is possible that I have the same problem.

At the moment, however, I am still guessing at a dirty nozzle.

I have also already switched to the new extruder of the MMU3 but I have the 6.0.1 firmware.

Frank
