First layer perfect, later nothing sticks.
I have Prusa MK4 since July 2023 and I print a lot (~ several hours per day).
Recently I have encountered some issues. The first layer is perfect, but when the speed increases, filament doesn't stick and everything is torn. What can cause these troubles? How to fix this?
I did check everything in Calibration and nothing was detected to malfunction.
Rods are properly greased, the bed is clean, no debris anywhere (I also used compressed air), belt tension is ok, all temperatures are right during the print. I tried different filaments, also Prusament. I have the newest firmware 6.4.0 and software - Prusa Slicer 2.9.4. I use default settings (with just slight changes like: brim, other infill etc.). I changed Nextruder, did several cold pulls, tried slower speed, tried to print different models.
RE: First layer perfect, later nothing sticks.
How old is the filament you tested?
RE: First layer perfect, later nothing sticks.
I testes 3 different filaments: 2 of them were less than 1 month old (Nebula filaments - I use them for over 2 years now and so far there were no problems), Prusament was older.
I have followed this topic: Extrusion stops halfway through print - https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/english-forum-original-prusa-i3-mk4-general-discussion-announcements-and-releases/extrusion-stops-halfway-through-print/ and I have ordered idler parts made of PCCF - maybe that will help 😐
RE: First layer perfect, later nothing sticks.
I'm sure you've already tried tightening the two spring-loaded screws on the idler?
RE: First layer perfect, later nothing sticks.
Yes, I tried - there was no improvement.
