Filament sensor fails with TPE

I have an intermittent failure of the filament sensor while printing with eSun eLastic TPE. Sometimes I have been able to complete a print with it but lately I very often get erroneous mis-triggering of the runout sensor. That effectively aborts a print job and so it is EXTREMELY annoying. (Sorry for the shouting.) The filament sensor appears to operate correctly with PLA.

I have tried to recalibrate the filament sensor using the TPE, but it failed the calibration a couple of times before it succeeded. That success did nothing to prevent further false triggers.

Two questions:

1. Is the problem known, or should I spend time documenting it?

2. Is there a way to disable the filament sensor for a particular print?

RE: Filament sensor fails with TPE

Your filament diameter variation could be out of the MK4 filament diameter accepted threshold.

Try to switch off the filament senzor. You will not be notified about the filament runout, but your print can complete.

Thanks for that.

Seems to me that if the filament is below the threshold then recalibrating the sensor should have worked. I think that the sensor is having trouble with the flexibility.

Can I turn off the filament sensor in gcode, or on the printer screen? Ideally I would be able to turn  it off in the slicer.
