Does nozzle need to be cool before power off?

On my Mk2 and Mk3 printers, it was stated that you should always let the fans cool the nozzle down to 50C or less before powering off to help prevent clogs/jams. I have not found any such caution for the Mk4. Is that no longer a concern with the Nextruder or should I continue to wait?

Cooling down of the hotend happens faster if the hotend fan is still running and it only takes a few minutes. Imho it's better to be safe than sorry. 🙂

Does god exist? Who knows? I've never hesitated to turn off any of my printers without waiting for the hotend to cool down but obviously it's just anecdotal evidence.

Hmm... I appreciate the difference of opinion. Going back in the printing handbooks, I can't find that recommendation anywhere in the Prusa manuals. Only on the forums. I must have internalized and over-emphasized it in my mind (or maybe it was in the manual for one of the earlier printers I had). Certainly it will be easier to swap out and clean a clogged nozzle on the Mk4, but I guess I do find myself in the better safe camp. Just feel guilty that I then turn my back on the printer and forget it's still needlessly on after a couple of hours of cooldown time.
