RE:

You just ordered your assembled MK4 (June 11th), and you think you might get it in May?

May I borrow your time machine??

I've heard of the Hot Tub Time Machine, the Delorean Time Machine and even the Tardis but I've never heard of a Prusa Time Machine.

Will that be available in kit form?

I'd go for assembled version so I don't mess up and get stuck with dinasours

Joan, I wish we knew for sure what's causing all this slippage in meeting the promised ship dates.

Is it a) parts shortages? If so, that can't have just happened in May or June. It had to be ongoing, and known before a shipping timeline was promised.
Is it b) A bad batch of motors, linear bearings, or other parts? As an Engineer, I can relate to this. Sometimes, a vendor delivers sub-par parts.
Is it c) An issue in the mechanical design plus software? I thought the MK4 underwent a 1,000,000hrs of testing.

You see my point? We paid for a product that is now almost 2 months late (beyond mid May), and it would be WONDERFUL if we are given SOME information as to what we are waiting for to be ironed out, instead of wondering and guessing. If you purchase a car for example and paid for it, then when you go back to pick it up, the dealer tells you that it's not ready, and won't be ready for another week. It would be within your rights to ask for the reason for the delay.

No one would think badly of Prusa if you tell us (within reason) what some of the causes for these delays are.

Being kept in the dark is not becoming of a company like Prusa that prides itself of having good support (before and after sales), and a company that stands for open source.

The shipping table on the support site is up to date.  Assembled MK4's ordered today are looking mid July. MK4 kits about Mid August.

My MK4 Assembled was ordered on April 3rd and shipped June 5th, which was just about right on the money according to the shipping table (at that time).

Agree with this.

Most people are perfectly happy to wait - for instance, I will happily wait for a while longer if it means the bad batch of motors were removed and replaced with a good batch, etc - it minimizes issues and frustrations later. But Prusa should at least provide some kind of update on why the delay, and how long we are expected to wait, Fair enough, recently we have a shipping schedule that's been released, which is still a little unclear, but there's still no explanation as to why the delay in the first instance.

At this point I would expect Prusa to have a good system in place that updates my specific order with an approximate ETA when I log in to the website and enter my order details. Rather then me guessing and setting my own expectations, my order details page should provide me with such information. Instead Prusa tend to keep customers in the dark, thus having a negative impact on the customer purchase process.
