Printing ABS
Hello all,
I recently ordered the mk4 kit with the enclosure. My question is, will I be able to print ABS safely with these two, or will I need the advanced filtration addon (or whatever it's called)?
Thanks for reading.
RE: Printing ABS
You can print without filtration, but printing ABS does produce some toxic fumes you don't want to inhale. That's probably OK if your printer is in a well-ventilated garage or so, but if you have it in the same room you are in, you should have some kind of filtration system in place.
RE: Printing ABS
I've been doing a fair bit of ABS with my MK4 (never got good results with the MK3) in my home office, and I don't really notice fumes or anything nasty (Hatchbox filament). I did make a foam posterboard (paper/foam sandwich) enclosure that cost just a couple bux though, and it keeps the heat even, any fumes contained and dust off the working bits.
