Multicolor in MK4
Hello, do you know, is there a multicolor printing system compatible with the MK4 today or do we just have to wait for the MMU3 to come out?
RE: Multicolor in MK4
Unfortunately we have to wait for MMU3 it looks promising though when looking atlast weekend’s live podcast

RE: Multicolor in MK4
Hello,Thanks for the answer, my question was mainly about whether someone had used Mosaic Palette or some other system with the MK4.

This really makes me want that MMU3. I will wait until people post their experiences, but I can't imagine that I'll be able to resist.

I'm not sure promising would be the word I would use. But I'm definitely hopeful that we will see it soon.

I'm curious about your thoughts…
RE:
My thinking is that the MMU3 has been working successfully on the MK4 for some time now. It wasn't until the ambient temperature of the operating environment increased that problems showed up. So for me, showing it working at the show doesn't necessarily mean the issues have been rectified. Thus, I don't see this as any different then the original delay notice stating they might have it figured out and just needed more trials to collect more data points to ensure it's working properly.
But that being said. I sure do hope it's going to be ready soon!

Take a look at the 3D Chameleon.

I have been using a Palette 3 Pro with my MK4 without any issues.
I use P2PP so that I can use PrusaSlicer. However you can use Canvas to slice if you update the starting G-code for the MK4.

HI, does the palette 3 pro keep up with the speed (input shaper} from the MK4?

The palette 3 pro hardware is capable of keeping up with input shaper filament speeds.
However, The software to support input shaper is still a work in progress.

@k7zpj
Can you point me to where I can find the settings for Canvas for the MK4.
I have both the Palette 2S Pro, and Palette 3 Pro.
But I seem not be able to find anything for the MK4.
RE: Multicolor in MK4
I have been using Palette 2S with the MK4 without issues (in accessory mode) using Canvas.
RE: Multicolor in MK4
This does not really answer my question...
I used a file that I created for my Palette 2S Pro earlyer as I still had the MK3S+ and just run it from Octoprint and it worked on my MK4.
But I'm looking for "proper" settings for Canvas. As Mosaic does not support the MK4 for a reason I cannot follow.
RE: Multicolor in MK4
My new created profile for P2PP and MK4 with Palette2S Pro in Prusaslicer has the result, that printing from Octoprint starts, but at a color change the MK4 unloads the filament?!
RE: Multicolor in MK4
Could the splice be causing the filament sensor on the mk4, to sense filament out?
Might be worth disabling the filament sensor for Palette prints

RE: Multicolor in MK4
Hello Joan,
unfortunately this seems not the case.
I tested some more. The successful print was made with Canvas. And the printer profile is stock MK3S provided from Mosaic.
In Canvas you can choose what slicer you want to use. The Kiss Slicer or PrusaSlicer.
The Kiss Slicer version just printed fine. Although it is sliced for the wrong (MK3S) printer.
And this even worked well in connected mode, this is using a OctoPi based Hub (mine is selfmade).
The same object also scliced in Canvas and using the profile of a MK3S but with Prusa Slicer did not work.
The printing begins, and at the first color swap, the printer does unload the filament.
RE: Multicolor in MK4
Cheers,
Hopefully someone else can help. My palette 2S pro is 60 miles away... so I can't try it at the moment

For Canvas, Use the MK3S profile with the KISS slicer. The MK3S profile is the same as the MK4 except the MK4 has a little extra z height. You can edit the profile to change the Z height if you want to. There is an article about the MK4 and not having a MK4 profile for it. The last post has a starting point for the starting G-code you can use. Here is the link: Mosaic Palette 3 pro: Prusa mk4 profile

What version of PrusaSlicer are you using?
I am seeing the same problem with P2PP/ PrusaSlicer after upgrading to PrusaSlicer 2.70.
It might be worth trying to down grade to the 2.6 version to see if that fixes it.
My printers are all in use trying to print as many Reindeer as possible before December 21 so I can't test that until after the 21st.
Don't ask. Bailing out someone who sold way more reindeer than they could print.
