MK4s announced , will everyone get the $99 upgrade?
Well, Prusa just announced a $99 upgrade to the MK4 to MK4s give a load of new features like 360 cooling, high flow nozzle but is that enough?
Ther website does not have this upgrade listed , but as soon as it does i can bet a lot of people will go fir it, for me the upgrade is cheapish and i hope theuy don't end up making people wait.
What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure I'm going to bother. The comparison times from the blog article say a print goes from 4:34 to 4:27 which is not worth the effort, although Thomas Sanladerer said it was a better increase in speed. As I've got an MMU as well that I've got dialed in that I don't want to upset.

JP, i see why you would like to not go for the upgrade, but, taking the past as an example, people will go for the upgrade, why , becasue we can, the result of better quality almost become second to having the latest machine. If people do upgrade, it will be intersting to see how result of prints are.
The thing they missed to getting a webcam attched and stream video, dropped the ball there Joe!!

I have experimented with many of the "upgraded" cooling duct designs on printables. Results have been noticeable, but none have been perfect. Prusa mounting a considerably larger fan and duct is what I have been dreaming of trying. The $99 at the end of the day isn't too far of stretch for me to satisfy my curiosity.
If I were thrifty, the logical move would be wait for an S+ upgrade.

I have only had my Mk 4 a couple of weeks, adding to my Mk3.
I saw no real need to "improve" the Mk3, for example it still has its original design cooling duct and no S or S+ parts.
The new fan and duct from Mk4 to Mk4S is actually offputting for me, as I like to see the head while working and seeing it laying easily, and that damn great lump obstructing vision is NOT going to help.
SO, that's a pass for now, I'm unconvinced.

I like the idea of 360 cooling, and if the fan easily folds out of the way for nozzle changing, I might be interested. I have six nozzles, and am not interested in replacing them with high flow versions. I'm not a bleeding edge kind or person so I won't be jumping on this right away. I'm very happy with mk MK4.

I've now had a chance to review the "influences" video , i.e the people who were sent a NEW MK4s by Prusa. That said what i can gleen is the upgrade has made significant improvements over Bambu and other printers. The overhang going to 75% is amazing and the "pre-sliced" models work very well, according to Robert Cowan, who also sliced it himself again and used his own sliced gcode to show that the Prusa stock is not a fake.
The extra hang sounds great to me and not useing as much filament is nice. The gcode used on Bambu had to be slowed down alot which ending up taking a long print time over the MK4s time so , those speed junkie, the Prusa|MK4s is the new gold medal winner here. BUT a lot of things have been missed in this upgrade, the camera support has AGAIN been left out, why oh why would you release an app to launch your prints and then NOT give you a video feed or a snapahot pic. The flow rate on the nozzole id nice to have ut again is rthis reason to upgrade, maybe not?
In closing my thoughts are Prusa, if you're trying to make up some lost ground over your competiors, it's a good effort but by adding a few "SOFTWARE" items like camera could had placed you in a higher standard but not really giving you a clear lead over everone else.
That's my honest, none biased and none supported view, take as it's meant just a 3d printing enthuesiast view.

Ordered, but mainly for the fan and interface. I want time lapse camera control of a camera. I don't know if I want to give up the versatility (no changing) of my Diamond nozzle. Will there be such a thing as a high flow V6 adapter?

The upgrade includes "Nextruder parts (including PCCF printed parts)". Wich parts exactly? Are they compatible with a Nextruder modified for MMU3?

Watched the video, the upgrade is £99 for the UK so I may go for this, need to wait until I have a few more prusa points though so I can get a double roll of filament at the same time (under 100 to go)

Seems doubtful, since the "high flow" portion is at the nozzle (pointy end) itself. I think Diamondback would have to also license the CHT high flow design and then you could use that with the standard adapter (if they haven't already).

According to the blog post, yes. In fact you can buy an assembled mk4s with an assembled mmu3 already on it

The new cooling fan/shroud, and associated overhang improvement tests verified by testers, are really good. That and (to lesser extent) the high-flow nozzle make the US$99 upgrade kit well worth the cost to me. Take my money, Prusa!

I will order 2 of those upgrades...I sort of cheated and decided to upgrade my last MK IIIS+ to the MK IVS.

I got all excited and ordered the upgrade, the accelerometer, and the GPIO board. Shipping was only $14. A steal.
