I've had much better luck with DHL for international and UPS for domestic.

Have not heard of that happening to anyone else, and it certainly didn't happen with my MK4 or Enclosure.  And I can't think of anything considered hazardous in either.

My best guess would be that someone (Fedex or perhaps Prusa) checked the wrong box on some form.  I have seen some issues with resin shipments, so perhaps someone mis-labeled your package as containing that.  It will get sorted, but I understand your frustration at the delay!

I wondered if there had been evidence of a spill or leak on/in the package - in that case FedEx might be complying with US law, even if someone had just spilled coffee on the package.

The only substance that I could think of that might be in the package would be some sort of lubricant or grease, or maybe a glue stick.

Does anybody know what might be up with Prusa chat?

Thanks for confirming that Live Chat works for you.  It doesn't show up in the Prusa Shop for me and the link to Live Chat on the company info page doesn't do anything at all, so maytbe Chrome is in some sort of confused that a CPU re-boot will fix.

I saw this happen to someone on Reddit too. They were told by DHL that the package was being held be customs waiting on hazardous material info and also something about radioactive material...yes, really.

I didn't follow that to see what happened. I figured it was someone at customs that doesn't know what a 3D printer is or hit the wrong box. Or, as someone on Reddit joked, a customs agent that also ordered an MK4 kit and your kit is being held "at their house" until their own kit comes in and then they'd forward that one to you...

I got thgrough to Prusa LiveChat and Prusa Shipping will follow up with FedEx and let me know what is going on.  I've got to give Prusa credit for following with little fuss on my part, at least so far.

Could be anything. Government entities have completely lost their mind and will do anything to show their need to exist. I use to sell KTM motorcycles in the late ‘00’s. They had warning labels on them that basically said kids should not eat parts of the motorcycle, they could contain harmful chemicals.

Money well earned California government, you have done your job well. 🙄

FedEx will deliver my Mk4 tomorrow.  Prusa shipping came through with whatever document was required, FedEx released the shipment and Prusa Shipping actually emailed me to confirm their part was done.  This was the 1st time I've availed myyself of LiveChat and I'm impressed at how well it went.

- Did you purchase any smoke/flame detector ?

they have normally inside some radioactive substances like Americium common in all the devices, and may be they have detected the radiation.
It is a pain when you order this kind of devices from abroad, they are a source of troubles.

Nope - no smoke/flame detector.  I thought those couldn't be sold in the US, maybe for the reason you mention.

The assembled Mk4 and enclosure kit were delivered by FedEx.  No apparent damage or signs of an external spill, so I'll probably never know what the problem was.
