Design of the ext-cable-holder

Does someone know why there are these slits in the 'ext-cable-holder-a' and 'ext-cable-holder-b' part?

If you cut the part open (as seen in the second picture, where I also added the 'ext-cable-holder-b' part in its position) it also looks like there is place for a screw, but you can obviously not insert a screw because the way is blocked by the part itself, and the assembly instructions also never mention anything about these holes or what their use it.

The slits are also too big for the two walls of a part to properly fuse together, if it were like this I could imagine it would be to enforce some kind of special stability support. The way they are build, the small part with the screw hole is only connected to the main part by 3 small, 1 layer thick strings, which seems like a weird design to me. In the finished build, this part is just pressed against the printer's frame.
If someone knows the answer to this, or you just want to take a guess with me, fell free to comment.

I Believe this is to allow the section to break out leaving space for the MMU3 cable to pass through in the future
