FYI my MK4 makes a similar noise as the video they posted.

never had issues with binding, not even any grooves or scratches on the rods. Only rattle like hell.

I doubt that is something you would see with your eye on the printer or anything that would damage the rod. I am talking about merely a slightly different friction profile during movement. The difference will be merely in surface artifacts I suppose.

Mk3s MMU2s, Voron 0.1, Voron 2.4

RE:

the metal case ones are not ideal...i bought some, test fitted them onto a rod and immediately put them in a box - way too much slack and no way to squish them.

better use ones with no hard shell (like igus rj4jp-01-08), that way you can carefully tighten them and get all the play out of it.

also less noisy than the ball bearing ones which is nice, i still gotta mod them onto all other axes...but then i got lazy. also mk4 -.-

Tried all different kinds. Even brazz and bronce. Floating and fixed. The breakaway torque on the flexible and hard Igus bearings change over time and the wear is high. Created more problems that it solved.

Brazz and bronce need perfectly aligned rails and bearing brackets. Very complicated and time consuming process.

Final solution was to use OEM Hiwin mgn12. Easy to install and super precise.

It's not at all surprising, considering how input shaping works, which is what they're demoing with that print.
