Problems with XYZ self-test

Hello,

This is the first time I have posted on this forum. I have purchased a MK4 and after having assembled it and checked that everything has been done correctly, I have tried to start it up. When it comes to checking the axes, it tells me that the Y is correct, the X gives me a fault and the Z does not tell me anything.

On the Z axis, it goes up to the top and then goes down to about the middle.

I have rechecked the wiring and each terminal is plugged into its corresponding place. I have tightened and loosened the belt on the X and it still gives the same problem.

I don't know what else to look at. I would be grateful if you could tell me what I should do or look at.

Thank you very much.

There are a few possible reasons for X axis calibration failure.

Check this toppic:

Check the entire range of the X-Axis.

At one end you have zip ties - make sure the heads are turned inwards and the tails cut short so that the print head does not hit it when calibrating. If the head hits the zip ties then calibration will fail.

See the video guide in my sig - it is mentioned here.

RE: Problems with XYZ self-test

Hi,

I was having a similar problem with X-axis calibration the last two days after finishinig the assemble of my MK4 Kit.  I installed the new firmware and checked everything in x-Axis without success.  After some hours of hard checking, I realized the head of tensioning screw was a little over the surface of support at left side.  The screw is 3x30mm.  I shortened it by 2mm to get the head aligned with the surface.  Viola, problem solved.  It seems that this 2mm were enough to shorten the total travel in X-direction in a critical way.
