Oozing / Stringing

Hi,

I am new to 3d printing and just bought a mk4 kit. The build went great and i have been printing for about a week now. But the stringing / oozing is driving me crazy. I have been reading alot about it. Tryed different test , changed my settings but i don't feel it's getting any better. Does anyone have a good tutorial how to fix this. Now i am fixing it after the print with a heat gun.

The standard first response to anyone with stringing issues is 'Dry your filament'

... and the second is 'Dry it more.'

Only when you are certain your filament is absolutely dry can you begin to address other possible causes.

Thomas Sanladerer tests filament drying:

After a week exposed in a room with a dehumidifier running there was noticeable deterioration of PLA finish...

CNC Kitchen - skip to 7.40 for time to fully hydrate results.

Drying: It depends on the type of filament... PLA very rarely needs drying for example.

Some things to try include:

1) Are you using the correct profiles in PrusaSlicer?

2) Try lowering the hotend temperature by a couple of degrees at a time.

3) Fiddle with the retraction settings in PrusaSlicer (You should do a search on these forums for help with that).

4) Keep an eye out for Official announcements as new (Alpha or Beta) firmware may help you...

...but first, dry it.

I disagree: in my experience, with the exception of a couple of months in the winter when the central heating is running every day, PLA always needs drying.

Try lowering the hot end temperature. I found the Prusa defaults were 20C to 25C higher than I needed.
