Looking for a bit more details on the machine screws used for Prusa Mk IV

Just spent 3 hrs wait time to try to get more info on specifics on the M3/M4 hardware used on the Prusa Mk 4 kit.  I came up 3 M3x6r short to assemble the print bed.

I found a higher end fastener supply place and figured out that the print out on the little baggies for assembling the printer lacks some of the fine details.

  • threads; coarse, fine,etc.
  • Rating on fasteners
  • material of bolt
  • size of torx / hex
  • head shape - I figure button style for most would work
  • There are a few of the step down bolts; but zero references to specific details

Nothing like need 3, and having to order 100 to get it shipped.   Once the printer is setup I guess I will be making a lot of those containers to store excess parts.

Once the printer is online, I will be working on upgrading my old MK3, and figure I will lose more than my fare share of fasteners.

RE:

This guide does help out with some of the facts - but not all - which are torx,

My best guess is thread type is always coarse

I did find I hope the M3nS - M3 Nut, Square, Slim

for high quality parts - each specific type is running about 10-ish dollars for 50 to 100 items...
