Horrible squeaking developed after 6 days of perfectly silent printing

My MK4 kit has developed a horrible squeaking during quick movements along the X-axis after a good 6 days of silent printing and I simply cannot isolate the problem.  It almost sounds like the Nextruder gripping/slipping on filament?  I've only been printing on PLA.

Video for reference: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yzvyi5w-6A7P-VsvSxizXnC6jglOxmmR/view?usp=sharing

Here's what I've done so far to troubleshoot:

  • Changed filament (between varying colors of Hatchbox and Prusament)
  • Checked tightness of part cooling fan, X-axis bearings, hotend fan
  • Re-ran Nextruder gear alignment
  • Canned air'd the Nextruder gears with the idler open (there was filament bits in there)

The noise is hardly apparent during slow, sweeping movements such as perimeters but it goes hogwild during infil and supports.  I can't stand it anymore =(

Best Answer by Sisyrx:

I have resolved this issue by reprinting a number of the Nextruder components at the suggestion of Shushuda in the official Discord.  They are correct in their assessment that these particular parts are of poor print quality from Prusa; they are warped and blobby and cause friction during the print process.

Here are the parts I reprinted at home in Prusament PETG that was dried for 24 hours at 55C in a Sunlu S1.

  • main-plate-R2
  • idler-lever-A-R2
  • idler-lever-B-R2
  • idler-nut-R2
  • idler-swivel-R2 (2x of these)

It has been one week since I reassembled the Nextruder with these prints and the printer has gone back to its silent self.

UPDATE:  I have been able to reproduce this manually by moving the E-axis via LCD controls with a filament loaded.  Issue most certainly appears to be with the idler nut/lever.  Been adjusting screws so far with no success.

Go to this page: https://www.printables.com/model/451501-mk4-printable-parts/files
Under "Model files" there is a folder called "Nextruder". Look for the names of the files mentioned a few posts above.

Kind of resurrecting this thread, but having the same issue on my printer as well. Have you had any problems since reprinting these parts?
