Anybody know why they are called grub screws?

I just put together an MK4 kit, and I am very impressed with the speed and no more futzing with the first layer.

Anyway, Prusa calls them grub screws.  I have always heard them called set screws (which seems to make sense).  Grubs are fat worms you find in your yard that moles like to eat.  But they don't have screws on them.  Why are they called grub screws?

Seems mostly like a UK/US difference, ie, "two peoples separated by a common tongue"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Set_screw offers some nuance. I have only heard/used set screw to describe these.

Yeah, I’m UK based, been an engineer for over 38 years and have heard both terms but by far the most common for me is grub screw - set screw was the naming convention when I worked on US aircraft projects

@Hello: Nice models, but I was told by a very experienced plastic mold maker to put heavy fillets on right angles for strength.  If I downloaded your models, I would have to put fillets where you have two plastic pieces joined at right angles.  Depending on which 3D modeling tool you used, that should be fairly easy.  I use Alibre Design Expert.

Grub screws are headless set screws - they burrow from view like a grub into an apple.

Cheerio,
