What are the differences between a 3.5 and a 3.5s
I feel pretty snaked to order the 3.5 a week before the 3.5s came out. My luck is so bad. 🙁
RE: What are the differences between a 3.5 and a 3.5s
Actually only the NFC, as the main upgrade for the MK4 is Nextruder
maybe also the LCD cover, which is made of injection molded parts instead of PETG
but no one can say anything more specific, have to wait for the official statement from Prusa
RE: What are the differences between a 3.5 and a 3.5s
I have a Mk3.5 and a MK4S. Besides the NFC antenna, there is also a different Prusa labeled WIFI board attached to the Buddy board. This board has an external connector. Maybe the accelerometer or the gpio board can connect there. See picture from the assembly manual
RE:
I would really like that the official MK3.5S would have the REVO PRUSA edition fast change equipped with the 60W HF heater and REVO High Flow nozzle 🤩
RE: What are the differences between a 3.5 and a 3.5s
Is there any official answer to this question yet? I've upgraded my MK3 so many times I don't know what I have now. I think I upgrade from an MK3s to an MK3.5, so did I lose the "s"? I also don't have the SuperPINDA, as apparently that's a separate upgrade?
The reason I ask is because the control panel has a configuration setting for the printer type, either "MK3.5" or "MK3.5s".
RE:
If you don't have the Super PINDA, you are on MK3S max.
As MarkusRe said, the difference between MK3.5 and MK3.5S is the new Wi-Fi and additional NFC module and the injection molded display plarts. The manual says you don't need the Super PINDA. That's why it is for Original Prusa i3 MK3S/MK3S+ to MK3.5S
RE: What are the differences between a 3.5 and a 3.5s
If you don't have the Super PINDA, you are on MK3S max.
This can't be true, because I purchased the 3.5 upgrade and installed it, and so I have the 32-bit control board running the Buddy firmware.
RE: What are the differences between a 3.5 and a 3.5s
Sorry, I meant before you were upgrading you must have been at MK3S (without the +) because of the missing Super PINDA. But with the upgrade you're on MK3.5 no matter you had the new PINDA or not since there are always some minor differences. Not everyone has the exact same hardware. E.g. I have the older silver PSU.
I remember, back then the support told me the MK3S to MK3S+ upgrade is only necessary if I have problems. They also added the black metal sheet holders for the Y-axis. You can always upgrade these parts if you want.
If you add the new Wi-Fi module and NFC you probably need to choose MK3.5S in the menu the make them work.
RE:
I can confirm that all you need to upgrade to MK3.5S from a MK3.5 is:
1) New Wi-Fi module : https://www.prusa3d.com/product/wi-fi-adapter-2/
2) The NFC Set: https://www.prusa3d.com/product/nfc-set-2/
3) Print out 2 parts: https://www.printables.com/model/1010277-mk35s-printable-parts
You need to print the el-box-cover_R4.stl and Wifi_module_cover_R1.stl
That's it.
RE:
What you should really feel snaked about is the fact that you just purchased a dead end upgrade and prusa is still after a year of me begging and other people begging refuse to sell the wire harnesses or make available the gears for the nextruder so that we can upgrade from a 3.5 to a 3.9 or MK4
RE: What are the differences between a 3.5 and a 3.5s
Not sure if I understand you correctly. You are talking about building the Nextruder yourself from spare parts, aren't you?
Both, the main cable ("wire harnesses"?) and the planetary gear ("gears"?) are available in the shop - listed and in stock:
https://www.prusa3d.com/product/nextruder-main-cable/
https://www.prusa3d.com/product/set-pg-assembly-pg-ring/
Never bought these parts myself separately but I can't imagine Prusa "refuses to sell" them to you when they're available (e.g. based on your shopping history).
Am I missing something here?
