Upgrade from MK3.5 to MK4S possible?

Hi,

I upgraded my MK3S+ to the MK3.5 and use it since some months next to my MK4.

What I am missing more and more is the whole Nextruder stuff, like auto leveling, the speed and also the slightly better cooling for overhang performance.

Now my plan is to upgrade the MK3.5 to (at least) a MK3.9 or even better a MK4S somehow.

Is there an upgrade path do do that without going the "MK3S -> MK4" + "MK4->MK4S" route? I do not want to spend more money than necessary for parts that I already replaced.

Thank you for your inputs,

Armin

Frankly, IMHO your best option is to sell the Mk3.5 and buy a new Mk4S. I don't know of an officially supported direct upgrade path.

I agree with @FoxRun3D: if you want the MK4S capabilities it is better to sell it and get a new MK4S.

My MK3S+ had already a REVO installed, and I wanted to keep the REVO ecosystem, so I upgraded it to MK3.5 maintaining the REVO. That was the only option to upgrade without loosing the REVO (that is enough expansive). I was forced to install back the REVO 40W over the REVO 60W because despite it was supported on the MK3S+ it is not supported on the MK3.5 Firmware.

Probably I will have to mod it to transform my MK3.5 to a MK3.5S if PRUSA will not release the upgrade kit.
Moreover REVO has recently released a Pressure Sensitive REVO nozzle, that could bring the MK3.5 to a MK4.

My dream is that PRUSA will define the new MK3.5S standard (not yet defined) as:

- MK3.5
- 60W Revo High Flow heater
- REVO HF nozzle
- REVO pressure sensitive system. 🤩
