Prusa mk3.5s Pinda mounting point broken -Mk3S/+
Hello,
On my mk3.5s I had an issue where the mounting point for the Pinda sensor had melted away. ( wouldn't have been an issue if i didn't sell my ender 3 2 days before lol)
I needed to print the replacement part on the printer.
This was what I had to do-
Load the part needed to be printed and enable the skirt option. 5 should be sufficient in this use case
Skip the auto bed levelling in the slicer settings Printing without running bed mesh leveling. – How do I print this? (Printing help) – Prusa3D Forum
Slow the print speed down as much as possible (50%)
This part may take a couple of tries, when the printing process starts the printer should home and then probe for the z offset.
Hold the pinda sensor as close to its original mounting point as possible.
Once it has probed then the printer will start to print the brim at which point live adjust the Z offset to achieve a good enough first layer.
The holding of the pinda sensor may have to be done again as it may to too far out so that there is not enough z adjustment
Fit the printed part , refit sensor How to replace a P.I.N.D.A. sensor (MK3S) | Prusa Knowledge Base Then print some spares
Not the best solution but if you don’t have access to another printer this should work.
Hope this helps.
There maybe a way to skip the probing of the z offset but didn’t look into it.
