Why is Prusa's order processing so slow?

In t he last couple of years I've started to notice that basically no order is shipping on time. Most order take at least three days from the moment they acknowledge payment to the moment it is shipped, and many times it is over a week before something ships. How come that order processing is so slow at Prusa?

Depends on what it is. For filaments and parts I typically have them arrive at my doorstep 3 days after I push the order button and I live on the West Coast of the US.

I guess the Czech warehouse has become a bit more laid back in recent years. In the last two years I have placed like 18 orders. Only a couple shipped within 3 working days and some even took more than 10 working days to ship while the store listed the items as "In Stock". If you ask me, the quality of the Prusa products is good, but the shopping experience can use some improvement.

That's different from my experience. I've made 7 orders since July and they all shipped same day.

My first order took a week to dispatch and was getting concerned (for stuff mentioned in stock). Checked that Prusa now ships 10.000 printers a month so must be that their logistics department is still catching up on the volume. I'm fine with waiting, as long as I get an indication of it when about to place an order.

Prusa's order processing can be slow due to intense, sustained demand for new, popular, and high-quality products like the XL, which often outpaces production capacity. Significant, ongoing global supply chain bottlenecks for essential electronic components (chips, sensors) further delay production and shipping. Additionally, high demand often results in long, multi-week, or even multi-month, backlogs.

In contrast, AI slop and spam posts are never in short supply. How reassuring.

Actually, I don't think it's specifically slow. I just ordered Filament and a few other products yesterday (Sunday) afternoon and it already shipped less than 24 hours later.
