Model railroading is what got me into 3d printing, after seeing a demo of a printer a number of years ago at a train show.

3d printing and model railroading go hand in hand, particularly for such things as buildings and 'flats' (building facades) and even such things as rolling stock (boxcars, etc.) and accessories.  I personally started off with tunnel portals, self-drafted and printed at our local makerspace, and eventually to more complex items (including several cars), accessories, and even a clone of a popular Lionel control switch.

Many train shows will have one at most vendor(s) selling 3d print buildings, often with a working machine, and taking custom orders on-site from a book of models.  If a model needs to be of a certain scale, it's trivial to scale it and, time permitting, print one on site.

When a 3d print vendor appears at a Maker Faire, there are tons of competitors, but at a train show there will not be that much competition.  Below I have a photo of a vendor at the March 2019 Rocky Mountain Train Show in Denver with some model of Creality machine on site.  (He seemed unimpressed when I mentioned to him that I was currently doing building flats with the Prusa MK3S.)  😉

The largest of the Stateside train shows happens twice a year, spring and fall, in York, Pennsylvania, US, and is sponsored by the Eastern Division of the Train Collectors Association, of which I've been a member for some time.  It's at the local fairgrounds and usually runs three days.  https://www.easterntca.com/read-more.htm

Another one of the majors is the annual Rocky Mountain Train Show in Denver, Colorado, US, sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Division of the TCA.  It's the largest west of the Mississippi and usually occurs in March. https://rockymountaintrainshow.com/Default.aspx

I might suggest having a vendor booth at each, and also volunteering to do a demo and seminar in one of the rooms, things which are very popular at the Denver show.  A live working 3d printer in a booth on the exhibit floor will always attract a crowd.

Those models are absolutely amazing I would love to use some of them on my model railroad any chance their on printables if their not they should be I bet you would get heaps of downloads

I've published a few of the models here and elsewhere, but most of them were done as a one-off and some used pieces from others.

If you see anything you particularly like, I would probably be willing to share the .stl files, but not in an organized plug-and-play (plug-and-print) manner.  I'll probably be willing to .tar or .zip up the files for about anything.

I know it may sound selfish, but I just don't have the time and the bandwidth to write these things up and post them.  Sorry.

Breathing a bit of new life into an old thread: I saw the US-based Meetup Tour taking place (with Seattle happening today, I believe) . I'd like to vote for Washington, DC as a future visit (you were sooooo close, stopping in NYC...).

It's wonderful to hear that Prusa is looking to explore new events and conventions where 3D printing would be a great addition.

I have two events you could present a presentation remotely.  

1. NARCON- National Association of Rocketry’s Rocket Convention.  It is virtual and yearly in the winter to spring.  The next on is in 2024.  
2. TRATECH- Tripoli Rocketry Aocciations Technical Conference.  It is both in person and virtual.  It is usually in the summer.  

3d Printed parts have become very popular in this crowd, but it is controversial.  Many of the old timers feel that the parts are inferior to wood and fiberglass.  I think a short presentation on your products and the strength of 3d printed parts would be a home run.

Chicago! There are a lot of events hosted yearly so I am not sure what would be best, but I would love to attend a Prusa event or meet the team at a booth.

Would love to see ya'll at Emerald city comic con. Been going for several years and have yet to see Prusa in attendance. I am a hardcore supporter of these printers and recommend them to everyone I know that are looking to purchase a robust well supported product.

I think there are two areas you should consider:

1. Medical / Biomedical applications.   There are tremendous opportunities spanning from medical education, medical research and clinical care.   However, there may need to be specific printer modifications and improvements plus potential regulatory clearances that would need to be factored into this course.

2. Applications specifically for electrical and electronic work.   For example, consider enclosures of electronic/electrical equipment that might require use of specific filament types, or consider prototyping of PCBs that may not be outside the realm of 3D printing possibilities.   The opportunities abound.

Finally, it would be nice if you had dedicated presence  in the USA if for no other reason than to reduce shipping costs.

Prices there are significantly higher than the primary prusa3d Czech store including for filament and printers.     Are they simply a "distributor"?
